i got this question from one of my mates...do you ever have a regret in life? if yes, what is the biggest regret? if you have an option, eg if time could turn back...what will you do to rectify the regret...

well, i didnt answer this when i get the question..i caught into silence...honestly, they are too much of regret in life. It always come into my mind after an incident, or when i do my self reflection...i did asked myself, what will the situation changes if i didnt react in they way i reacted...i always tell myself, well, calm down and you should settle it in another way when it happens again...and, sometimes i failed to recall, what i supposed to act...

hmm, time to grew up and learn from the experience...makes the regret an experience, as time couldnt turn back :)

i am doing my revision just do, and a sentence come across my mind. "Why do we do what we do?" Seriously in doubt...who ever question himself, what he is doing and why he needs to do this.

Honestly, i don't as my life path seems to be so normal and nobody will question me, except myself. If i am to ask myself this question, the answer is definitely...i dunno.

Guess it's time to sort out the answer for this question...

It's a long awaiting annual trip with my dearest society mates...i love you guys :)

It hurts, when you care. This statement is extremely hurt, especially when someone you believe, you trust, and you care did something which is wrong to you.

I have no intention, but its my intuition who makes me browse his blog. I read the latest entries of him, one of my mate in my UK gang, hmm...i should say, used to be. It is so hurt when I read the following words "Lost control on self control...do everything with my own preference without thinking others feeling especially dear...joined wrong ppl with no good examples....".

Mate, what do you mean by joining wrong people with no good examples? You are the one who opt to hang around with us, and enjoy every single second of joys and cheers with us. You are the one who make the judgement and decision. So, who are you blaming for? Yourself or us? Why do you sounds as if we are the one, who have control on your life in UK, leading you to the black hole?

Mate, it is so hurt when you decided to delete us from your contact list ever since you step into Malaysia. Anyway, we aceept it and respect you as this is your decision. It has been few months, where I didn't serve myself a proper breakfast...or a proper brunch...Out of sudden, I miss the days...

where I settle my brunch with two slice of breads, an egg, two finger of fillets, and a cup of milk or milo...

hmm...wonder, when is the next time, I will step into kitchen and serve myself...a proper meal ;p

Finally, I have a chance to watch a movie during my CNY break. Thanks buddy for the company...and for the non horror movie, The Wolfman. I am not a big fans of horror movie, but I always wanted to watch this, since my first visit to Chatsworth House. The reason being is as simple as, the movie is shoot at Chatsworth House :)

Friends who been there with me, guess you remember the lovely garden ;) It's not a highly promoted movie, but guess you should watch once, to recall the lovely memory in Chatsworth House...and experience the horror part of the peaceful garden :P

The farewell party

I never know how a farewell party in universities looks like as I never attended one, until I have the opportunity to participate it in UK. Lot of my friends decided not to attend it as the exam is approaching and they do not see the mean of attending it. However, I still attend it with a small group of friend. Well, we still have fun at the party.

It is a surprise when we found that the farewell party is hell at the Penine Hall, which is one of the lecture halls in SHU. We have our sit and started photograph session on ourselves. This is so called “syok sendiri” and what we used to do when we are bored.

Mr Andrew is the host of the day. A video clip about international student for the summer course is presented it’s a flash back of memory which valuable to us. The party is then followed by speech of the college representative.

At the last part of the party, light refreshment is served. We manage to tried lots of sandwiches provided. The most delicious one will be the sandwich wrap. I doesn’t know what is the actual name but it is delicious... yummy :P

A small thing that surprise my day was the award giving session. I won the blogging competition and received an ipod shuffle as my gift. Feel great for that. And to someone, I will take your words that you changed your perception towards me. :P You will never have the chance to blame me for blogging anymore.

I had registered myself with the Local Friends Scheme once I know about the program organised by the University. Personally, I found it as a good chance to know more about the local peoples in Sheffield, about the culture and living.

It was a surprise when I received the college email confirming my attendance of the program. I am so excited and could not wait to meet up with my host, Ms Beth Goldsmith. However, it turns into worries while we wait at the entrance of Blackwell. Joanne and me was thinking, how are they going to recognise us. Should we rang them up? We saw a lady walking towards us while we are in confusion. And so, we met up with our host, Ms Beth.

We visited her house and have a nice english tea-time. She introduced us on what is a proper english tea. They used to have a cup of coffee/ tea/ juice, sandwiches, cakes, scones, and chips as they tea. We shared the living culture and style of English people and Malaysian. A surprise is that their main family activity is to camping. Erm, I only go to camp with my friends in Malaysia.

Later on, Goldsmith families brought us to the Sheffield Museum. I do not noticed that there is a Museum in Sheffield until I been there. They told us about the history of Sheffield. It was a city which famous with steel. The steelworks were a key target for German bombers. It was bombed in year 1940 and it damages the city. Beth told me that Sheffield has been a very dirty city due to the steelwork, however it turns into one of the greenest cities in Europe. Thanks for the hardwork of peoples over million of years.

Besides the World War II, Sheffield gone through flood in 1864. It sweep off the north west part of sheffield and destroyed 100 buildings, 400 homes and killed 240 peoples in 40 minutes.

Beth asked me a question during the visit to museum. "Do you know where is the Jelly Babies was made?" I shaked my head and she told me it was first made in Sheffield by Cadbury Schweppers Plc. So guys, please remember Sheffield when you have the yummy Jelly Babies. :)

The Goldsmith family drive us home after the visit. It was a nice day out. A nice talk and experience to Sheffield, and the local family. Thanks to Goldsmith family.

Our next stop is Isle of Sky, the most northerly island in Scotland. We reached Isle of Sky at 9.15pm, a bit later than our checked-in time, but we did manage to get the hostel room. We are lucky although we does not have fate with the dinosaur like monster. We went to bed quite early as there are not much night activities.

Again, we depart at 5am in the morning, for sunrise. It's a raining day and so, it's cold...but we are still happy, enjoying the moment with mates. We witness sunrise together...and we start our day together, it's the 3rd day of our journey.

The next stop of the day is Loch Ness. There are few attractions but we do not spend a lots of time here due to the tight journey. This is what happen when we have limited resources ie money and time. ;p

The most famous spot in Loch Ness is the brooding lake. There is a legends that a dinosaur like monster is staying in the lake. No one knows whether the real monster exist, but the ancient story spells that people who see the monster is a lucky one. So, we go there by hope of seeing a real monster. Sadly, we do not manage to see any monster, but the lake is natural and nice.

The next attraction is the Urquhart Castle. It is one of the Scotland's largest castle, which carries the bloofy history from 13th to 17th century. We only managed to view the castle from the carpack, but it still looks gorgeous.

On the way to the next attraction, we stop at an unknown lake for photo shooting purpose. The scene is really nice. I miss the moment where I step on the stones, breathe in the fresh air, looking at the nice scenery, under the warm sun.

We continue our journey to Eilean Donan Castle. It's another famous Scottish Castle, which is rated as the most beautiful castle in Scotland. We reached there in the evening. The castle looks nice under the sun. ;)

At the 2nd day, we decided to depart at 5am in the morning in order to reach our destination before 10am. We had make an appointment for Dewar's World of Whisky and not affordable to being late. Well, we should set away Malaysian being and become a punctual person in UK.

I stay awake on the way to Perthshire, and enjoy myself in the nice scenery and cold weather. As our lovely driver feels the tiredness of driving, we decided to take a break. You know, I kept on reading this phrase when we travel, tiredness can kill. ;p

Finally, its day for Scotland Trip which we waited for so long. The first stop is Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Again, a historical city. It's a rainy day, however the rain doesn't spoils the mood of visiting, but it carries out the historic and vibrant of the city. I am just in love with it...

A must to visit site in Edinburgh is Edinburgh Castle, which is amazing on itself. However, we do not manage to visit it due to time constraint. A little imperfections of the day in Edinburgh. However, the outlook of the castle itself impressed me. Standing at the entrance makes me feel the gorgeous of the historic building.

The Royal Mile Street, which is one of the most famous street in Edinburgh. It is the historic heart of the city and is full of fascinating links to Scotland. Walking along the street, you cwill find yourself soaked into the atmosphere of Scotland and also the historic of the city.

The Palace of HolyRoodHouse, which is the official residence of the Queen and the Royal Family. Sounds nice? I guess is attractive as we do not have much chances to visit a palace. It will be a pleasant surprise if I got the chances of visiting it.

A little fun part of the day is, there is a food fair. Entrance ticket is required for the food fair, and the lucky us got the entrance ticket. We tried some local foods of Edinburgh in the food fair, it's yummy. I can't forget the salted grilled fish ;p

another regret of the day was...i missed out the visit toCalton Hill due to a change in plan. Missed out the overall view of the historical city, and also the lovely sunset. Anyway, it's a tiring yet enjoyable day.

Sheffield Fayre

Sheffield Fayre @ Norfolk Heritage Park

It is so glad that I have the opportunity to visit Sheffield annual event, the Sheffield Fayre. It is the largest outdoor activity is South Yorkshire. My friend told me that it is a must to attend the event. There are lots to see such as horticultural show, living history reenactment, child fares, community tents, markets stalls, food and refreshment and etc...

My most favourite program during the day was the horticultural shows which turns the park into battlefield. The history is recreated and alive.

Finally, I watched 17 Again, a movie which I wanted to watch before my flight to UK. It's not simply because Zac Efron stars the movie, but also the title and the story line of the movie. It's a story regarding a men who took the opportunity to rewrite his life, and also his spouse and child life when he found that he is 17 again.

Wonder, what will I do if I was given a chance, to rewrite my life, to rectified the errors which i made. Will I change my thought, and all the minor and major decisions which will affect my life? Will I have the guts to make changes...or I will remain all the decisions, as good and bad decisions drive today me...

I went to liverpool cathedral and there is an art exhibition. A little corner of the exhibition provides paper and crayon for peoples to color the printed animal, and paste it on the animal art board. I choose a crab among others animal like tiger, butterfly, ladybird and etc.

Instead of color it according to the real crab, i decided to make it colorful. It recalls me about my teaching experience in kindergarten. I used to teach the children to color an object according to a real one, and a punishment if they do it in the opposite way. In wonder, what makes us to stop the children in developing their creativity, their imagination...and kept telling them how cruel the world is.

Will it turns into a better way, if we tell the children that how nice a world would be...

I was arranging my stuff just now and I found a piece of paper, which is my FDM notes . There are 9 dots on the piece of paper (as shown in the picture). The task given by John is to linked all the dots with 4 straight lines without the pen leaving the paper. This is the one and only rules.

Sounds difficult. In fact...it's not. The only thing that you have to think is...think beyond the scope, think out the box. A simple activity, yet meaningful.

It's a friday night...and there is a tradition to throw out some parties or activities in Charlotte Court. As we are all under the pressure of assignment, the girls decided to have a chocolate fondue party. You know, chocolate is always a good food when you are stress, or when you feel moody... PinMei is the host of the night and we are the guests.

We have Cadbury Milk Chocolate as the dip. Sorry to inform that it sounds nice but this is not the right option. We should use cooking chocolate instead of milk chocolate. So lucky that PinMei have chocolate powder. For the fruits, we have grapes, kiwi, strawberries and not to be missed out, marshmallow. Yummy?! The only thing we does not have during the night is...ice cream...

Art Tea In The Park

It's the day for art-tea in the park, a Hallam volunteering programme. I am glad that I have the opportunity to participate in it, as the places is limited. It's an event where the local children and their families will prepare bundling for the Sheffield Fayre which will be held in August 2009. It's held in Norfolk Park, Sheffield. We gather at The Hub at 12noon and went there by taxi. Tadda..a short distance but memorable, as it is my first taxi experience in UK. ;p

Upon arrival, we was brief by Meredyth, the person in charge for the day on the arrangement of the day. Our duty during the event is to guide and help the kids when they preparing the bundling. There is two type of bundling, either the craft or the paint one. I am in charge of the craft side.

Personally, it is an enjoyable and memorable day. I love the expression of the kids holding their own bundling, and showing it to their parents. Its a face of satisfaction. It reminds me, how cheerful and simple we are, when we are still a kid. We laugh, when we are happy. We smile, from the inner of the heart. And, we are easily satisfied with what we have. I miss the childhood days...

It's a sunny day and we decided to pay a visit to Chatsworth. I am so wanted to visit it as Chatsworth has been selected as the UK's favourite country house for several times. Sounds interested?

After the long queue to gain entrance to the house, and the sounds of..."wah..." to praise the gorgeous architecture of the building...we started the photo shooting session in The Painted Hall. The Painted Hall is used to welcome the important guest, before the go to the bedroom and stateroom. The scene on the wall shows the life of the Roman Emperor Julius Caesar.

yeah...finally, I have the chance to visit Liverpool, another city in UK. It's the first driving trip in UK and an enjoyable outing with mates. Thanks darlings...It's really a memorable day which full with laughter, fun, happiness, joy and also...craziness...

There are many museums located in Liverpool, which do not imposed an admission charge. So, its worth to pay a visit to the museums. However, due to the time constraint, we only manage to visit the Walker Art Gallery. It display artworks from 13th-21st century. It's an impressive tour in the art gallery.

Joanne is a big fans of Cathedral, so do I when I am in UK. The Cathedral in UK is gorgeous. There are two famous Cathedral in Liverpool, Metropolitan Cathedral and Liverpool Cathedral. It's a rush day and we do not manage to visit the Cathedral. So, it's simply a photo shooting outside of it.

Not to missed out, superlambanana. The sculpture was created in 1998 as part of initiative to create a 'corridor of art' through the North of England. Guys, it currently located at the main entrance of LJMU's library.

My friends always tell me that night of Liverpool is different and really nice. So glad that I have a chance to experience the night of Liverpool City. We manage to visit the outside view of some historical building during the night time. It's really impressive and we are falling in love with it.

Thanks my darling sis who provide me with such a yummy recipe. But i do not add in the celery and leek, and a no measurement day. :P Ish, i do not have a weighing machine and measuring cup in UK...so, cook with the feel...but taste nice yeah...

Ingredients:

1litre of full cream milk
70g flour
110g butter
235g chicken broth
1 yellow onion
1 celery
50g leek
500g mushroom

Instructions:
1. melt the butter in the pan
2. add in the onion and cook till it turns transparent, then add in the celery and leek as well
3. add in the mushroom and let it cook
4. stir in the flour slowly, stir until the mushroom become a paste

5. add the chicken broth into the paste, followed by milk
6. bring to boil
7. taste with pepper and salt

I manage to get back the pendrive which I accidently left it in library..what a surprise...it's was kept by the security guard. As per him, when the library staff found the property of students, they will report it to the security guard in charge. For eg, in the case of my pendrive, he will plug in and look into the documents, to check if there is any student name found which is the owner of it. They will then email the student, so that the student can collect their lost property. Nice one right? But, he said he can't email me, because there is more than one name found in the pendrive. Just for the security purpose :) Thanks god, I did the assignment cover page...

Yeah..no doubt...real case happen in Sheffield..a safe city in UK :)

There is nothing much to promote Mars, as we can easily grab in any convenience stores in KL. But, for me, its worth to give a try on it. You know, the basic concept is...food in different countries taste different.

Mars in UK is kinda different with KL. First, the chocolate bar is milky and not that sweet as compared with what we get in KL. And the surprising part is, Mars in UK is soft. When you bite, you will feel the soft nougat in the chocolate bar. :P Yeah...it's yummy...

My mates strongly recommended yoghurt in UK to me. For them, it is a must to try and fall in love with it. I guess, this statement is correct. I enjoying the yummy yoghurt which I bought, a brand recommended by my mates, Muller Fruit Corner. There are 8 flavours which I could reached, and proudly announced that, I tried all. ;p

If you like fruits, go for Strawberry, Peach & Apricot, Blackberry & Raspberry, Red Cherry, and Black Cherry. If you love yoghurt with some crunchy biscuits or flakes, go for Vanilla Choco Balls, Toffee Hoops, and Banana Choco Flakes.

The yoghurt is a bit different with what we get in KL. In KL, we can get strawberry flavor yoghurt as well, but a whole one. In UK, they packed the flavor aside, where we have the option to mix in the strawberry jam. The same goes to others flavor. Erm, i saw a sentence on the packaging of the yoghurt. "The shape of the twin pot is a trade mark of the Muller Group."...So, you know why we can't have it in KL.. ;p

Anyway, it is not recommended to try the following product...Muller Rice ;)

My mates and me get a free sample of this during our visit to York. We tried, and we find the taste of the product is not suitable for us. Its, mixture of yoghurt with rice...Haha, imagine it by yourself...

Seaweed Soup v Egg

If you are craving for a bowl of hot soup in the cold weather, have a try with this. Seaweed soup with egg. ;) It is a simple soup to prepare. You know, even people who seldom step into the kitchen like me can prepare this. So, no doubt, have a try with this...

Ingredients:
seaweed
egg
chopped garlic/ onion
chicken broth (the soup base)
salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Cook the chopped garlic/ onion in the pot till light yellow
2. Add in chicken broth and let it boil under small heat for a while
3. Then add in the seaweed and leave to boiled
4. In the meantime, lightly whisk the egg and add the egg slowly into the soup base
5. Last, seasoned with salt and pepper

Tips:
1. The soup will taste better if you boil the soup base with seaweed. However, it is faster to get the soup ready, if you put the seaweed into boiled water.
2. Do add in some salt in the egg when you whisk it, it will taste better.

York, former walled city

My friends and me decided to visit York, a former walled city. It's my second day tour in UK since I reached here. I viewed some photos of my friend who been there and get some useful information ie places to visit before departure. For me, it's a tired day as I did not have a good rest in the days before the trip. However, it's an enjoyable day...with all my mates. :)

As we reached quite early, we have a walk in the city. I am not sure with what place is this, but it's nice. :)

The first stop of the day is National Railway Museum, the largest railway museum in the world. There are lots of railway in the museum, ranged from the old fashioned to the modern one. There is no entrance fees charged for this museum. So, it is worth to visit in my opinion.

Next, we drop by at the War Memorial Gardens at Leeman Road. This garden is opened to the public daily since year 1925. It is a memorial to those who involved in the Korean War. Today, it is also used to hosts the annual Service of Remembrance in the presence of the Lord Mayor and other Civic dignitaries.

A visitor spot which should not be missed, York Minster. It is the largest cathedral in northern England. I did not join the treasury tour to discover the historical value of the cathedral, but I visited the York Minster Tower, which cost me £3.00. Its 275 steps, which is steep and dark. However, it's a satisfaction and no regrets to reach the top of the tower.

Shortly after the visit, we went to Roman Bathhouse. It's located at the St. Sampson's Square, which is a strategic location in York.

The next station which we just drop by and snap some photo, The Merchant Adventurers' Hall. It is one the world's best medieval guild halls since 650 years ago, and it is in used to date. :) There is an unique collections of art, silver and furniture in the exhibit hall. However, we did not pay a visit to it, due to time and budget constraint.

Not to be missed, the York Castle Museum. It is a leading museum demonstrating daily life of the peoples. It shows how peoples like us live by displaying thousands of household item and newly recreated room.

From the museum, you can see Clifford's Tower. The tower had a turbulent history. First, it surviving from 1,000 years of flood, fire and siege. Second, it previously functioned as a prison, gruesomely displayed the bodies of leaders of uprisings, and was even a court. Well, it's a sad case where I do not have a chance to visit because the Tower is closed for visitors by the time we reached.

And, we saw this pub, The King's Arms Pub on the way to the next stop. This pub become famous with a weird reason, at least in our opinion. During floods, the ground floor of the pub is covered with water, and people can only drink at the second level of the pub. And thus, it is famous. Weird?!

I am not a Christian but I enjoyed visiting church in UK during my tours. Don't ask me why and there is no specific reason. I just enjoyed the feel of sitting in the church. I know it sounds weird.

When we hungry, we decided to try some local english food. We tried out the english sausage of Little Macs at the market place. Yummy :)

The YorkBoat is one of the must see attractions in the visitor guidebook. The YorkBoat sailed from Lendal Bridge to Kings Staith Bridge. York's history past and present will be communicated to the passenger by the Captain.

Last but not least, city walls. The city walls of the York is the finest and most complete walls of the town in England. The City Walls trails will used up approximately 2 hours around the entire circuit of 2 miles. Along the walk, we experienced the view from the walls and the historical value of the city.

Finally, it's the end of our first presentation for FDM. The first presentation is not assessed, but we do take it seriously. (arh...are we serious?? arguable i guess). A single word "Welldone" by Mr John worth all the efforts we put in. He mentioned that he likes the way we present the information. Credits go to Nelson who decide on the flow of presentation. Arhem, we decided to do something which is a big "NO" in TARC. ;p Well, different culture, different style...a simple theory to understand...

Finally, I sign up for my first trip in UK, which is Cambridge, the city of university. The most famous university is University of Cambridge but it has no campus as its university scattered around the city. In the coach, we were given a Cambridge Map and a brief introduction on the tour. And, so sorry that I have no sense of direction, and I have no ideas on reading a map. So, I fold it nicely and placed it in my bag. ;p

When we arrived at Cambridge, we were lead for punting tour at River Cam which cost £5 per person. By taking punting trip, we were able to see the whole city of Cambridge through the river. Through the river tours, we pass through Mathematical Bridge, Queen's College, Clare College, Trinity College, Wren Library, Trinity College, and Bridge of Sighs.

Next, we head down to St. John College. The entrance fee for student is £2.00. There are 3 courts in the college, which is accommodation, lectures hall and dining hall. We have non-stop photo shooting section as all of us were impressed by the architecture of the building. We can see the bridge of sighs through the river. We spend around 2 hours in the St. John College.

Later on, we intend to pay a visit to Trinity College. However, we are not manage to enter as there is a function in the college at day of visit. So, we have no faith with it.

So, we went to Gonville & Caius College, the 4th oldest college, and being one of the traditional college in University of Cambridge. There's few attraction in the college which is worth to visit.

After a short lunch break, we continue our journey in Cambridge. We pass through a shop selling post card, and so, I bought this at 20 pence as a proof of visit.

Next stop, we went to The Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences. There are many fossils, rocks and minerals from around the world and explore more than 550 million years of Earth's history in the museum. There were fossils from the age of dinosaurs, marine world, minerals such as crystal and jade and local geology (i.e. volcano, earth). I will say, a place worth to visit.

Again, we went to visit the Emmanuel College, another constituent college established in 1984. I think we missed out some part of the college after I surf the college website. We only manage to visit the front court of the college. And, I found out that there is Chapman's Garden, New Court & Herb Garden, Paddock and lots of places which we did not visit in the college. What a waste. :S

Next on, Downing College. I was attracted with the name of the college. Out of curiosity, I search for the College again. Downing College was founded in 1800 under the will of Sir Geordge Downing. So, Downing is the family name of the founder, make sense. ;p

The last place to visit before we end the day, King's College. During the visit, we were guessing on who is the founder of the college and why is it named as "King's College". Well, the fact proven that the college was founded by King Henry VI in 1441, and here's the reason for the college name. Arhh...someone is complaining that no creativity applied. ;p

A sad case is I did not stop at the market place to shop for some souvenirs. My friends who pay a visit to the market place told me that there is lots of things in the market place. They sell food, candies and nuts, postcard, magnets, shirts, souvenir and etc in the market place. Well, there is a surprise where I see this in Cambridge. A Chinese restaurant named Ugly Duckling. Cute ;p

yeah...it's a fact that i love chocolate chips cookies...and, i will never say NO to chocolate. In KL, I used to bake chocolate chips cookies. A simple and easy to go recipe. Else, i will grab for Famous Amous cookies...Well, in UK, i found my new love :) The Boasters, Buttery cookies baked with belgian cookies.

I love the crispiness of the buttery cookies baked with the belgian chocolate chunks. It's really taste good. I told my sis that I don't mind to have this as my brunch (breakfast + lunch)...well, i guess it's fat and should have a glance on the nutrition information provided. A slice of the cookies leads to 90kcal, and i need 2000kcal a day. So, i guess i can have it...but, look further into it, the FAT per cookies is 5.5g, and what i require is 70g...guys, acceptable to eat few slices a day, right? hahahah...

Recall...few months back, phuisan brought a pack of chocolate with her when she went back to Malaysia. It's a pack of assorted chocolate, i guess she opened up and let us choose. Ms Geh was there when we get the chocolate, and this is strongly recommended by them. So, we tried it on the spot, and fall in love with Trix. Well, partly because i love chocolate, but this is really nice.

Just imagine, when you bite, you taste the crispy of the biscuit, and in the same time, you feel the caramel melting in your mouth with the chocolate. Ouch...it's yummy....
